Today Rivne Museum of Regional Studies is a scientific, methodological and cultural-educational centre of the city and region. At the beginning of the XXI century, two new museum departments were created in Rivne: the Ulas Samchuk Literary Museum and the Amber Museum.
About 297 thousand exhibits are being kept and displayed in the museum, 20 thousand of which are presented in the exposition halls which contain permanent exhibitions. The museum houses exceptional exhibits of herbarium of rare plants, treasures of Old Russian silver jewelry of ХІІ – ХІІІ century, the collection of Volhyn icons, early printed books among which Ostroh Bible dating 1581, the Cossacks’ things, works of well-known European sculptor Tomash-Oscar Sosnovsky, coin collections, cold weapons and firearms.
Exhibition activities of the Rivne Museum of Regional Studies are widespread and various. The museums’ galleries welcome exhibitions from other museums, private collectоrs, painters, masters of people’s art from different parts of the world. The exhibits of the museum were displayed in Ukraine and in other countries, in particular Canada, Poland and France.

The visitors of the museum are very interested in the exhibitions "Our locality during the Second World war”, "Ukrainian Insurrectional Army”, "Old Rivne” (about history of the town and its residents), "Early Rus’”. Archaeological and ethnographic expositions are attractive with their originality. One cannot help feeling the beauty, unique originality in the galleries which present plants, animals, rivers and lakes, geology, amber.
