The history of Puppet Theatre in Rivne originates from the troupe of puppet actors formed in the first half of the 1970s by the regional philharmonic under the direction of Tetiana Kurovska, which included Iryna Burka, Oleksandr Skidan, Ivan Protsyuk. They were among the first actors in the theater. Andriy Semenenko was the chief director, Yakiv Vakulinsky - the director, Vitaliy Melnychuk - the chief artist. These were actually the pioneers of puppetry in Rivne region, who faithfully gifted their talent to fellow citizens and guests of the region for ten years in the future.
Construction of a puppet theater on the street of Simon Petliura began in 1976.
